Easing into fall
basics, plaids and a little bit of bling to have on rotation
I always feel a little lost when re-adjusting to autumn weather and I like to seriously take my time during the transition. Currently whilst the school holidays come to an end, summer trips seem far in hindsight but I’m still not ready to accept the breeze as of yet. Running out of inspiration to feel my best fashion self, I’m reaching for my favourite jeans and t shirts on repeat - but I feel like I need to spice it up a little bit, without being too ‘out-there’ because I want to feel like I’m wearing my clothes rather than the clothes are wearing me.
This is what brings me to plaid shirts, where I always have a few classics on rotation. There are some GORGE looks and pieces from Miu Miu, The Row and Bottega but honestly I feel like it’s such an easy trend to take a slice from with brands with a much more accessable price point and quality. There is just something really effortless about styling a plaid shirts over tanks and t shirts. Whether it’s tying it around your waist or draping it over your shoulders, tucking them into jeans with a pretty gold or diamond necklace, this for me is an easy chic tactic that works season after season.
What I love about this most is that you can build a lovely collection of these shirts knowing that you’ll wear them and style them next year and the following. They’re the perfect start to the season of layering before the heavier layering comes into play, just to EASE you into it. Absolutely love this Kate Moss look, so chic with patent heels.
